This is Tom's allotment, its brilliant, its about the size of a football pitch! This is where we go in our spare time and clean up, build, make fires and cook! Its such an inspiring place and its high up so you can see most of Burnley. I will be taking more photographs up here of a different model soon.

This was taken at my partners' alotment, a great place for photo's, very inspiring! I liked this one because of the shapes and colours and her shadow. I managed to get an assistant to hold a reflector underneath to help shine abit of light onto her face aswell as my flash gun.
Over summer this year I am going to take a few rolls of film and photographs models on location using my own homemade reflector boards and my flash gun. I actually took this image using myu digital camera because it came out better than the similar version on 35mm film. The model is my cousin who did very well, we had alot of fun and the weather was fantastic. This photograph was taken in Towneley Park, Burnley.

I took this one day last week during sunset. I didn't quite have enough time to get out of the house and somewhere interesting! I hung out of the bedroom window to capture this image. I am pleased with it, I like the chimneys and the strong texture and tone to the sky.
I took this photograph using studio lighting, specifically daylight flash and a honeycomb just behind him to illuminate his outline. The way in which the honeycomb was placed directly behind him created a star effect and so the image looks like it was taken outside at night, rather than in a room! I was very pleased with the outcome. I got my model, Tom to hold up a piece of gold card to reflect the light back onto his face to light him up from the front.

I photographed this skyline not so long ago, it was a very strange day, one minute it was sunny, the next it would rain. At this particular time it was just about to rain and the sun shone through the clouds and lit up some of the roof tops down the hill. The lighting was very impressive. It was taken at the top of Towneley Park in Burnley. I like how your eye is drawn into the distance.

This one was my favourite out of the three. I love reflections and in this case I was pleased that i could have housing reflections in that scanky water. Again I took the image in the area that was previously a primary school. When i composed the image I purposely included the yellow bucket because without it proved a little un-interesting. When i printed the image the colours involved came out very bright and make this image strong. Even though the subject matter is 'mucky', the reflections and colours create an interesting image.
This was another strong one. I took a similar image before this one and staged a ball but in this case the football was already there, so i used the opportunity to include it in my shot. The message being that the space could be potentially turned into a play area. I composed the houses in the background to further the idea. The area was in the middle of these houses and roads going all the way around. I took the image in Burnley.
This was for my recent brief task of publicizing an area that could be changed into a place for social meetings, play area, somewhere where everyone trusts one another. I walked around Blackburn and Burnley for this task. The above image turned out to be the strongest. It was taken in Burnley. The area used to be an old primary school that was knocked down, I think a couple of years ago. The space has all overgrown and as far as i am aware there's no new plans for it yet. I used direct flash on the sign and a lower aperture to achieve detail to the sky. I was very pleased with the colour saturation. I tried the shot in landscape but it didn't have the same effect. I like the message and the fact that there is nothing behind it.

And Spring. I used Photoshop to create the cover and text headlines.

This one represents, Autumn and Winter.

I had to set up and stylise a fashion shoot of my own theme. I choose to do the 4 seasons, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. I used two models and photographed them individually and together. I had to use 35mm colour film for the task in the studio. I then had to choose 3 final images and design fashion magazine covers for them. This one above is for the summer season.
I created this image in the studio using daylight flash, specifically a large softbox and background lighting. Again high key style. This picture shows 'Shallow Depth of Field'. I used a large focal length to compress the image and focus on the dummy to create an interesting artistic image. I'm really pleased with the colours and the expression of the baby wanting her dummy.
I took this photograph as part of my brief task to accentuate a feature. I used a white backdrop to create a high key style image. I used studio lighting equipment, specifically daylight flash with softbox and a honeycomb. Digital SLR, ISO 200, aperture of 32 and shutter speed of 1/125.

This is one of my recent favourite images. The sunlight shone on this twig at just the right moment. I used a larger focal length to compress the image and blur out its surroundings. I like the shapes and dark tones.

I went for a walk around the Leeds Liverpool Canal, Blackburn a couple of days ago. The sun was out and there were lots of fantastic shadows about. I stumbled across a desolate piece of spare land, which I think was recently a car park. It has been used as a dumping ground for rubbish bags , burnt out tyres, stones etc. At the moment I am working on a task to produce images to show the need for high quality parks (places to meet and play). I found this rather interesting plant and thought about including this with the spare land. My idea being that this place could be turned into something pretty, like the flower.
