On Sunday, Tom drove us up to Leyburn in North Yorkshire to visit an annual Forties, wartime themed event. There were union flags, period cars and people dressed in Forties clothing, including Forces uniforms. Iv'e never seen anything quite like it! As soon as we approached the little village I saw groups of people walking up and down the main road. It was surreal... the local shops had decorated their windows with flags and bunting and there was a military vehicle display in the centre. I managed to capture a few interesting moments which I will post soon....

I've decided to add another layer to this year's Summer Reading Challenge
to keep things fun and interesting. Since this is Road Trip Americana, why
not...
