I created this image in the bedroom, using natural lighting.... I recently purchased some cushions and a bed spread, which I made into a background. I then used Photoshop to tidy the image and bring out my subject, Grace..

I was inspired by the detail that appeared on the eyes. I photographed her beside my window, where there were some crystal glasses on the sil. I colour spectrum was achieved and seen through the eyes. I chose to show this one because I captured reflection of the lashes in there too..

It's quite a while since my last post... I became a first time mum in December so I've found life these days rather busy. I've not had much time to plan and go out shooting! Instead i have focused soley on my daughter, Grace, who is a constent inspiration to me. I photograph her most days and each time I become more inventive with the compositions, which keeps me motivated as a photographer. I have missed the oppotunity to continue my photograhy at university this year and so I must maintain and practice what I have leant from home.

These new images are self portraits... it's something I've not really had the confidence to do before. I thought about the background, lighting and pose, to produce a raw photograph and then used Photoshop to help me achieve a final image. I shall post images up of my little Grace after these..

When I had all my images, I went through them and picked out the ones that showed key moments of their wedding. I wanted to create a photomontage with a magazine type appearence. I tmade up a title and used a quote they used on their wedding cake.

I've just photographed my first wedding for very close friends. I used my digital camera along with a flash gun. Some of the photograph's were dissapointing but I've learn't alot from them! The next few were the strongest. I used Adobe Photoshop to spruse some up abit.

This one is my favourite, it has a magazine advertisment feel to it. I love how the light falls on Sam's face and how the whole image is softly focused. It was windown frame was slightly darkened to create stronger framing around her. The pose is natural as she was unaware at the time.

The one below was one I took for some humour! Opposite to Tesco's was the town clock which created a fantastic background feature.

These photo's above are my final images that I have chosen for my Final Major Project at college. I used my Canon 40 D Digital SLR. I experimented with a technique called HDR, which stands for High Dynamic Range. This is where you capture the same image three or more times using different shutter speeds. The images are then combined to create one image that has a range of highlights and shows detail in the shadows. I decided to photograph in a rural environment and capture tree forms and landscape. They were all taken on couple of long walks around North Yorshire, specifically a village called leyburn. The images are in order from the start of the journey and on return (from top to bottom).
